After getting home in the wee small hours, I started editing this morning and the finished video was uploaded to Facebook this afternoon. Originally it was a 60 second edit, but the client decided they didn’t want to see certain background elements, so I had to chop 15 seconds out. (Sadly it was the best shot of the video, which took over two hours to film).
The moving timelapse was filmed using my Sony a6000 with a slow shutter speed and a variable ND filter. The camera was rigged on my new Digislider, which moves and pans the camera using a precision timelapse motor and shutter intervalometer.

Here’s something I made a while back which has recently shown up on the client’s Vimeo channel:
It was the first time that NGN had been asked to certify a GoPro for gas safety. Basically I put the GoPro in a waterproof housing and they approved for use on-site where gas is present. I was able to use the camera on a long pole at the bottom of the holes made using the new drilling technology. The GoPro gave a new angle to previous unseen places, and NGN have continued to use GoPro cameras on their shoots. I made this with my old mate Howard who’s now sadly no longer with us.
I’ve recently bought a set of Samyang Cine DS Prime lenses. So far I’ve used them for a couple of commercials and a 4 day drama shoot and the results are fantastic. I’ll post some images once the productions are aired.
A new client is High Street TV, based not far from me in Harrogate. They broadcast four channels on the Sky TV platforms. In the Sink Skin Commercial I shot replacement footage of in-sink, low levels shots using the Sony a6000 which got very wet!. For the Pressure King Pro I filmed the 1st, 3rd and 4th and 6th testimonials. And more recently I filmed most of the testimonials and cookery for the Quadrapan.

Wharf Media asked me to shoot a series of testimonial commercials for their client – EvoDental. We overnighted in Heathrow so we could start shooting first thing at their clinic nearby.

I filmed all the interviews and their related cutaways for this recent corporate video, including a starring role from my assistant Tom who was roped in to act as the car thief!

The Aged Care Channel have uploaded another programme promotion:
The programme is a update to an original that I filmed on the FS100 back in 2014. The update includes a raft of new scenes filmed on my LS300 which now include home care workers.

This is the third corporate video I’ve produced for Whitby-based Pulsar Instruments. This new product needed a slightly different approach from previous videos, so I wrote the script and used my iPad teleprompter system to relay it to the presenter.
This is my 4th year producing the videos for this ever-growing awards ceremony. I filmed the judging at BBC Broadcasting House in London in October. And again in November, when Tom joined me for the ceremony.
As usual, I edited two short video that were played at the ceremony, and then I made the final film encompassing the entire 2015 awards process.

I’ve taken delivery of a new JVC LS300 cinema camera.
While shooting in HD, UHD or 4k it offers the unique ability to fine tune the sensor scan to any available lens system. It uses a large native APC sensor, but the camera can adapt to other lens systems that cover less area on the sensor while still maintaining 4k resolution.
The wide range of codecs on offer produce high quality chroma sampling for superb quality chroma key and colour correction capabilities.
I’ve added 3 additional high capacity batteries, a set of native Panasonic MFT 12-35 f2.8 and 35-100 f2.8 lenses offering a field of view equivalent to 24-70 and 70-200. I can still shoot on all my existing glass, but the Panasonic lenses offer image stabilisation under manual or automatic control in a very lightweight package. You can never have too many lenses I reckon.
The result so far are superb. the colour rendition is amazing and the resolution when shooting scaled down to HD is way beyond anything I’ve used before.
