Xmas Xscape
Xscape Yorkshire asked us to produce their Christmas events videos this year, which included the Santa’s Parade walk and a visit to Santa’s Cabin. Tom filmed the parade using his Sony A7s which works brilliantly in very low light, and I filmed the Cabin using my Speedboosted super fast prime lenses at f1.2. I created the graphics in Motion and edited the videos in FCPX. Feeling festive yet?
Martin House – Strictly Get Dancing 2018
For the second year, we were proud to film the Strictly Get Dancing event for the Martin House Hospice. We also created social media videos for the contestants to use on their fundraising pages, as well as many of the video and logo assets played back during the live show. As usual Duncan Wood from ITV Calendar compered the evening and a panel of judges chose the winners. I sent Duncan a stringout of suitable footage that was aired on ITV the following Monday.

All I want for Kissmas is…
Trinity Leeds launched into Christmas this year with their Kissmas 2018 event. We covered the whole day with three cameras, and created several videos for social media and internal use. The following evening I revisited Trinity after hours to film the tree illuminations using my drone.

A Summer Rose
This summer I’ve completed a couple of projects at the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds. They launched their outdoor play area, and hosted a Gromit Unleashed treasure hunt through the summer holiday. Both videos were filmed on the G80 and Zhiyun Crane gimbal.
Roarsome Rex
UMPF asked me to film a Dinosaur build video for the Trinity Shopping Centre in Leeds (that’s me pulling the dinosaur into position above!) However, before the installation they needed a teaser video in the style of Jurassic Park:
The two-night install was supposed to start on the Wednesday, but apparently they had ‘lost’ the dinosaur. So on the Thursday night I installed my trusty a6000 in the roof of the Trinity, and followed the installation team from 8pm until 10am the following day. The finished video has 88 thousands views on Facebook!

Another fun job for UMPF at the Trinity Shopping Centre, involving days of time-lapse and ground based filming too. I was looking for an excuse to use this music track, as it’s such high energy and fun to edit with. And I thought the bike sound at the end would a nice touch.
I built the time-lapse rig using the trusty Sony a6000, powered from a huge V-Lock battery via D-Tap to USB adaptor and a USB to dummy battery cable. It ran for about four days, taking a still every 15 seconds via the trigger from my motion time-lapse slider.
The poor weather meant that the initial 2 days job over ran by four days, so the camera didn’t capture the entire install, but you don’t really notice in the end.
Aerial flying was performed by the team at HexiHeli, and the footage end up being used on the BBC and ITV as part of their wider TDY18 coverage.
Berkeley DeVeer
Over the last two years I’ve created 12 promotional videos for Berkeley DeVeer – a high specification property developer based in Wetherby.
I’ve created the logo animations, maps, graphic transitions, tracking overlays, callouts and edited the videos. Typically each edit is a day and a half from start to finish. Everything is created in Motion and Final Cut Pro. Here’s a few examples:
