When hiring an aerial video specialist, there are a few things that you must to be aware of…

Firstly, any drone pilot who operates commercially must have approval from the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority).

Approval comes in the form of a PfCO – Permission for Commercial Operation, and operating without approval is illegal. Everyone who holds a valid PfCO is listed on the CAA website here.

Anyone flying commercially without a PfCO is uninsured, because commercial insurance can only be obtained once you have a valid PfCO.

So if you are hiring someone to fly a drone for you make sure you see their PfCO number and insurance details. They’re obliged to show you this information and no doubt they’ll be proud to do so!
